Tips growing your hair out

Growing your hair out is going to take time. It doesn’t just grow overnight. Typical hair that isn’t full of split ends and is super healthy will grow up to a half an inch a month. Below are some good tips about what you can do to help your hair grow out.

Trims are your friend

Even though getting regular trims to get rid of your split ends doesn’t make your hair grow out faster. It just keeps your hair looking healthy and prevents split ends from working their way up, which to fix requires you to chop your hair off. It is suggested that you have about an eighth of your hair trimmed off every 10 to 12 weeks to prevent severe breakage.

Be sure to use conditioner when you shampoo

If your hair gets wet, you need to condition it. Over time your strands will begin to get thinner towards the bottom. Conditioner helps to replace lipids and proteins inside of your hair shaft. It also seals the cuticle in order to prevent more damaging from happen so your hair can grow longer and look so much healthier.

Apply a mask or oil treatment every week.

When your hair is long enough to touch your shoulders, or further, there is a high chance its years old and requires more than just conditioner to care for it. It is best to use a moisture based oil or mask every week. You can also use a mixture of unrefined coconut oil mixed with almond, jojoba, and macadamia oil. Apply it to damp hair and leave it on for about 10 minutes then shampoo like normal.

Cold Water Rinsing Helps

Cold water rinses help to lay the outer hair down smoothly, which helps to prevent moisture loss, heat damage, and even snags. You only need to do it for a few seconds, but over time it makes a huge difference by growing your hair and keeping it healthier longer.
